Monday

Start your day off with the video guide.

Reading:

- Today you will listen to a read-aloud. Before listening, think about this question. To dissent means to disagree with an opinion or belief held by others.

- Click here to listen to a read-aloud of I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark. As you listen, think about the challenges that Ruth overcame and how they helped form her beliefs and opinions.

Writing:  

- Today is a brainstorming day! Tomorrow you will write your answer to this prompt on Boom Writer: What do you predict life will be like in 2067?

- Use today to brainstorm ideas about how life will be like this far in the future. Think about food, travel, clothes, cars, houses, technology, and more! Tomorrow you will put your ideas together into a paragraph.

- We are continuing to work on Khan Academy. Your login information can be found here

- Today you should complete the following activities under Topic B:

     * Find a missing side length when given the area exercise

     * Find a missing side length when given the area video

     * Area of rectangles review

Science:

- Food webs are more complex and detailed than food chains. In food webs, energy moves in many ways. Watch this video to learn more about food webs.

- This week we will read from our religion book online. The website can be accessed here and the username and password are below. (Both are case sensitive!)

- Read this fiction passage Big Lawyer Dreams and answer the comprehension questions. 

 

Writing: 

-  You'll take your ideas that you brainstormed yesterday and turn it into a paragraph.

- Answer Section 3: What do you predict life will be like in 2067? Use at least five complete sentences to answer this question.

- Extra: Here is a Reader's Theater that you can practice with family. Have each person choose a part and practice reading with fluency and expression. Try and act it out if you can!

 

Writing:  

- Today is a catch-up day for writing. If you need to finish any sections of your online writing journal, use today to get caught up. You should have finished Sections 1-4.
